PLID, Disc-Related Back Pain and Sciatica in Uttara
A disc bulge or PLID finding on MRI does not automatically explain every symptom and should not be treated as a scan image in isolation. Relevant assessment includes pain distribution, neurological symptoms, strength, sensation, movement, gait, daily activity limitations and red flags. Some people may need medical or surgical specialist review, particularly with rapidly progressive weakness, bladder/bowel disturbance or saddle-area sensory changes.
For appropriate patients, rehabilitation may include education, graded activity, individualized exercise, trunk and hip strengthening, mobility, functional loading and return-to-work planning. Traction or any named technique should not be promoted as a universal solution.
